GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) The GMAT is the Graduate Management Admission Test, a standardized test used by business schools as a measure of an applicant’s mathematical and verbal ability. Business schools require applicants to take the GMAT and submit their scores in order to be considered for admission to MBA and other business-oriented degree programmes. GMAT is designed to help graduate schools assess the aptitude of applicants for advanced study in different disciplines of Business Management like Marketing, Human Resources, Economics etc. It tests the ability of a person to process information, reason effectively and resolve content based subject. The test is in CBT (Computer Based Test) format i.e. Computer Adaptive in nature and has to be taken on a computer in the Sylvan Testing Centres located in different cities. Test Format Questions Time 1. Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) 2 60 min. (a) Analysis of an Issue 1 30 min. 2. Quantitative Aptitude 37 75 min. (a) Problem Solving 3. Verbal Ability 41 75 min. (a) Reading Comprehension Total Score : 800 + Essay Score 0 - 6 Validity : 5 years |
