FASHION DESIGN – Cutting Edges To Your Career

Designer clothes is what every one want to wear. The pre – requistes for a fashion industry are creativity and good communication skills. Indian designers has made a mark in the internaitonal fashion industry with their persona. India generates a lot of foreign currency through exports of clothes. Many international labels has opened up their production unit in India, creating lots of job opportunities.

Career Prospects

You can be Apparel Designer, Accessory Designer, fashion Coordinator or merchandiser. The compaines where you can get recruit are :

  • Brand Labels lilke Ritu Beri, Armani, Versace etc.
  • Export Houses
  • Retail / Wholesale merchandising

The Examination

Entrance Test : Jan / Feb
Eligibility : 10 + 2 (% (% depends on University / Institute)
Test Area : The test is aimedat judging the candidate’s IQ and at the same time the creativity donein the most imaginative and innovative manner. The selection procedure has two stages.

Stage 1 : Written Test – It compries of :

Paper-1: General Ability Test (GAT) which has

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Logical & Analytical Ability
  • English Communication
  • Reading Comprehension
  • General Awareness

Paper-2: Creative Ability Test (CAT)

Stage 2: Situation Test
